A project team led by Ger van den Broek of Philips Research Eindhoven, the Netherlands, has received the 2001 ITEA Achievement Award. ITEA (Information Technology for European Advancement) is a large European programme to stimulate the development of software technology. The Achievement Award is granted annually for the most outstanding contribution to the programme. The winning project team has developed the ITEA Technology Roadmap on Software-intensive Systems, a document that describes the software technologies needed in the 'digital age' and maps out how these can be realized.

Other members of the project team were from IMEC, Bosch, Alcatel, Italtel, Thales, Dr Materna and Nokia.
