Department of Computer Science and Information Systems

University of Jyväskylä is a research-oriented university and one of the most productive universities in Finland. The department of Computer Science and Information Systems belongs to the Faculty of Information Technology, which is the largest and oldest in Finland in its branch. Information systems science has been taught at the University of Jyväskylä since 1967. The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems has very strong connections to local and international industries due to its leading positions in information systems, software engineering and computer science disciplines. Several research teams from the department are involved in different research and development projects in the areas of Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, Information Management, Software and Systems Development, Software Business, Digital Media and Cognitive Science. Faculty members of the department have published their research in leading Information Systems and Software Engineering journals.
