Endesa
Endesa is one of the largest electric power companies in the world and Spains largest utility. It is also the leading private multinational enterprise in Latin America and is a major player in other energy sectors, such as gas.
At year-end 2011, it directly employed 22,877 people, 11.092 in Latin America and 11,785 in Spain, Portugal and other countries.
Since the first quarter of 2009 Endesa has formed part of the Enel group, the largest electric utility in Italy and the second largest in Europe by installed capacity. Enel is an integrated operator, active in the energy and gas sector, with operations in 40 countries worldwide. It has net installed capacity of 97,000 MW and sells gas and electricity to over 61 million customers.
Endesa has unveiled a new strategic plan for the 2012-2016 period, whose main targets include retaining its leadership in the Iberian and Latin American markets.
