High interest ITEA 3 Kick-off Turkey

On 15, 22 and 29 May the Turkish ITEA 3 Kick-off events successfully took place in Izmir, Ankara and Istanbul. These information events were co-organised by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK) and ITEA Office and attracted about 75 Turkish participants from the R&D community each.

During the event, ITEA representatives shared the results of ITEA 2 and also presented an outlook on its successor programme ITEA 3 which will start with its first Call with the PO Days in Amsterdam on 23 & 24 September 2014. A big interest was shown in this upcoming event.Invited Turkish project participants presented their experiences based on their ITEA 2 project and collaboration with European partners. Esen Tuna from Turkcell Teknoloji stated that they believe ambitious software projects that have large impact on European and global prosperity call for industry wide pre-competitive research. He emphasised that, born out of this community spirit, ITEA programmes have a proven record on collaborative research and economic impact. Furthermore, participants also had the chance to have firsthand information about national funding rules and procedures for ITEA 3. TÜBITAK representatives highlighted that the network created in ITEA 3 is an important platform where Turkish companies can cooperate and collaborate with the European partners in advanced R&D projects.

Finally, each event ended with a networking session where participants took the opportunity to exchange experiences and to discuss ITEA 3 project ideas and consortia, as well as to talk to ITEA and TÜBITAK representatives.
